Biography

Dr. Maiguel graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry followed by graduate school at University of Maryland, Baltimore for a Ph.D. in biochemistry. He spent many years pursuing basic science research in nephrology and diabetes research before deciding to change his career path in order to have a more direct impact on people’s lives and to give back to the community. Dr. Maiguel graduated from George Washington University with a doctorate of physical therapy. There he learned not only how to treat musculoskeletal conditions, but how to better listen to patients, and to evaluate the whole body and not just a body part. Dr. Maiguel is firmly devoted to continuous learning as a physical therapist. His future plans include additional training in different manual therapy techniques such as trigger point manual therapy to treat musculoskeletal disorders and additional training in vestibular rehab. In his spare time he enjoys quality time with his family.
