Biography
Dr. Myneni is a board certified physician specializing in family medicine/osteopathic manipulation therapy. He has a special interest in lifestyle medicine, creating a strong patient/physician relationship, and collaborating in decisions for holistic patient care. As an osteopathically trained physician, he ardently believes that the body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance. His approach to patient care takes into account each patient's interests and goals.
Dr. Myneni is a Hampton Roads native who grew up across the water in Yorktown, VA. He studied Biology/Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University prior to graduating from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency training at East Liverpool City Hospital outside of Pittsburgh, PA where he served as chief resident. During residency, he gained additional medical experience working part-time as a physician at Change, Inc., a rural, non-profit medical clinic in West Virginia, and working as an urgent care physician with MedExpress. Prior to joining Churchland Family Medicine, he served in a multi-disciplinary role at Rush University in Oak Park, IL outside of Chicago. He participated in both clinical medicine, medical student education, and in-hospital patient care. He also served in a physician advisory role for the hospital's Infectious Disease Committee and provided a lecture series for Oak Park Senior and Disabled Services. In the months leading up to his departure from the Chicago area, he served as a frontline physician in the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to his role at Churchland Family Medicine, Dr. Myneni serves as a principal investigator for Meridian Clinical Research conducting clinical trials. He also serves as an assistant professor for the EVMS Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is excited to be back in Hampton Roads to raise his young family and looks forward to many years serving the community. In his free time, he is an avid cyclist and runner with a love for cooking and espresso brewing
