Biography
Dr. Marijane Hynes is a clinical professor of medicine. She attended the George Washington University School of Medicine, followed by completing an Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University.
Upon graduation, she pursued a primary care career at the George Washington Faculty Associates. She later became board certified in obesity medicine. She served as the founding director for the multidisciplinary weight management program at GW (George Washington) for the past 15 years. She is a speaker at conferences across the country. She has authored several articles on obesity and its comorbidities such as atrial fibrillation, sleep apnea and chronic kidney disease. In recognition of her outstanding contributions as an educator, in 2023 she was given the by the American College of Physicians Sol Katz Memorial Teaching Award by the American College of Physicians.
