Coronavirus (COVID-19) Patient Monitoring Partnership

Privia physicians and doctors from around the country are inviting their patients to join America’s fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Your participation in this national patient monitoring program will enable medical experts to better understand, respond to, and potentially develop new treatments to address the Coronavirus emergency. How was I selected in the Patient Monitoring Program?

Any patient over 18 years old who was seen by a Privia physician was invited to participate in the monitoring program. Your participation is completely voluntary and unrelated to your ongoing care.

How frequently will I get a message from the monitoring system?

After you sign up to be a part of the program, you will receive a daily email asking 4 to 5 short questions. The questions should take approximately 2 – 5 minutes to complete. Your daily participation is completely voluntary.

How much time will it take to participate?

Each person receives one email each day with a few questions about your health, including possible symptoms. The questions should take 2 – 5 minutes to complete.

Who has access to the data I enter?

The data you provide that identifies you, including your name, address, email address, medical record number, and date of birth, is only accessible by Privia Medical Group. Only after your data is de-identified (a process used to prevent your personal identity from being revealed) and combined with data from other participants in the program, will the data be shared with government agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Center for Disease Control, or similar agencies in other countries. These agencies will have access only to de-identified information involving patient health outcomes by region; they will not be able to directly identify you. Is my ongoing care affected?

Your ongoing care is not affected by your participation in the patient monitoring program. If you have questions about your care, you will need to contact your provider directly.

How long does the program last?

The program will last for several months as we work to study the Coronavirus. When the program ends, you will receive an email from Privia Medical Group letting you know that we have closed the monitoring program. Your continued participation is meaningful because the information you provide is important for the continued fight against the Coronavirus. We hope that you will complete as many of the daily questionnaires as possible.

Do I have to participate?

Your participation is completely voluntary and you can stop participating at any time.
