Biography

Dr. Kelly Koren is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who joins The Doc Next Door after more than 20 years as a physician and officer in the United States Navy. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, operational units, and overseas clinics, and has served as both a physician leader and educator.

Dr. Koren believes that communication and patient education form the foundation of good medicine. She takes time to help her patients understand their health, ask questions, and make informed decisions about their care. She values long-term relationships with her patients and enjoys caring for individuals and families through every stage of life. Her particular clinical interests include women’s health, preventative care, and procedural care.

Dr. Koren grew up in several parts of the country and now lives in Northern Virginia with her twins. Outside of medicine, she is an avid reader whose home library recently surpassed 1,000 books. She also loves tackling home improvement projects, learning something new whenever she can, and all things Star Trek.
