Biography

Dr. Dougherty attended an accelerated seven-year BA/MD program at Brooklyn College and the State University of New York at Downstate. *(The 7 year program is no longer in existence; the BA/MD program is now an eight-year program.)* He graduated Magna cum laude with his BA/MD degree at the young age of 24-years. He completed a one-year internship and a two-year residency in internal medicine at the State University Hospital's program at Stony Brook, New York. Dr. Dougherty first passed the American Board Internal Medicine board certification exam in 1990 and remains board certified in internal medicine today.

Dr. Dougherty and his wife have been married since1990 and have three children.
