Biography

Elizabeth Nicholson is originally from Augusta, Georgia. She provides counseling and therapy services for individuals, couples, and parent/child clients. Elizabeth earned her B.A. degree in Sociology and Certificate in Environmental Studies in 1994 from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. She also attended Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1996 from the University of Georgia. She has served as a field instructor for Bachelor’s level social work students at Thomas University and is a member of the National Association for Social Work.

She is licensed and Board Certified as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.

Elizabeth enjoys live music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She and her husband have two children.

Elizabeth has specialized training in the treatment of pregnancy-related mental health. She also provides counseling to patients with general mental health concerns including Depression and Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Medical and Health concerns including eating disorders, Grief and Loss including Pregnancy Loss, Work, and Career Issues, Stress Management and Insomnia, Parenting and Family Issues, Fertility, Pregnancy, Parenting Issues, and Perinatal Mood disorders including Postpartum Depression. Elizabeth’s therapeutic philosophy of treatment is both supportive and insight-oriented. Since insight without action is stagnation, expect to receive plenty of encouragement to keep moving forward!
