Biography

Matthews Internal Medicine is pleased to announce Alicja Sundblade FNP has joined our practice as a Nurse Practitioner and is available to see patients in our office. Alicja Sundblade graduated with her Master’s degree in Nursing for Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013 from UNC-Charlotte and maintains certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Alicja describes her main goal as “getting patients to their optimum level of health so they can live their fullest lives”. She seeks to partner with her patients in their care allowing them to make informed decisions to better their health.

Before joining our team, Alicja worked at Novant Health Presbyterian Internal medicine for 7 years. In addition to preventative and women’s health care, she is experienced in diabetes management as well as hypertension, cholesterol, depression and anxiety management.

Prior to pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing FNP, Alicja enjoyed working as a nurse in the hospital but wanted to be able to impact patient’s health before they required hospital care. She believes that for a lot of them, there is room for improvement in preventative counseling and instruction on how to manage their chronic conditions.

Alicja is married with two children and enjoys time with her family, travel, baking, zumba, and is an active member in her church community. Please welcome her to our medical practice!
