Biography

Nkechi is a Certified Nurse Practitioner, and her prior nursing experience includes working as Director of Nursing, Clinical Educator, ICU, Cardiology and PCU Staff nurse. She is a dedicated professional practitioner with over 15 years of experience managing nursing operations, directing patient care, teaching and training experienced and new nurses, mentoring undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

Nkechi has been so fortunate and blessed to be recognized as a Paul Ambrose Scholar and was chosen to serve as the Keynote/commencement speaker at a nursing graduation in 2013. Nkechi volunteers as an objective grant reviewer for the Paul Ambrose Scholar Program, Accreditation Reviewer for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Nkechi is a Maryland response Medical Reserve Corps and has served as an Adjunct faculty for the Nurse Practitioner program at Bowie State University, School of Graduate Studies from 2013-2017. Nkechi is a certified CPR, Advanced cardiac life support and Pediatric advanced life support instructor for the American Heart Association, American Safety Health Institute, Emergency Care and Safety Institute and Community Emergency Response Team Instructor. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.

Nkechi enjoys the world of nursing because she believes that every nurse can be an advocate for health promotion and disease prevention which can improve the outcomes of her patients with the application of evidence-based practice. Nkechi also believes that imparting knowledge empowers people to be autonomous and inspired to teach others. When Nkechi is not doing one of her favorite things such as cooking, traveling or reading, she is busy taking care of my family.
