Biography

Afeeza Santamaria is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who recently joined Potomac Internal Medicine. With nine years of diverse nursing experience, including primary care, retail health, acute care, medical-surgical nursing, and school nursing, Afeeza brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to the team.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and is a certified DOT Medical Examiner. Afeeza is Spanish-speaking, which allows her to effectively communicate with and provide exceptional care to Spanish-speaking patients.

Her clinical expertise includes managing acute and chronic conditions, as well as preventive care. Afeeza is passionate about empowering her patients to achieve optimal health through evidence-based practices and personalized care.

As a Northern Virginia resident, Afeeza is dedicated to supporting her community. Her dedication, reliability, and advocacy for her patients make her a valued member of the Potomac Internal Medicine team.
