Biography
Dr. Mattewal is a board-certified pulmonologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating chronic respiratory and sleep conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), OSA and lung cancer. Dr. Mattewal earned his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India. He completed his Internal Medicine residencies at AIIMS, New Delhi and the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, where he was named MSU Resident of the Year. Dr. Mattewal went on to complete his Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine fellowship, and Sleep Medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He served as the chief fellow in his fellowships.
Dr. Mattewal is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He has been serving the North Houston and The Woodlands Community since 2011. He has been part of multiple hospital medical committees, and served as Medical Director of ICU and Chair of Medicine at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.
With years of clinical experience, Dr. Mattewal is committed to providing personalized care and advanced treatment options to improve patients' lung health. He is passionate about delivering comprehensive care for both acute and chronic respiratory issues.
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Mattewal enjoys spending time with his family.
