The adopted vaccination policy for Savannah Pediatrics, PC is as follows:
All scheduled vaccinations will align with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended vaccination schedule. This will be reviewed and amended when the annual vaccination schedule for 0-18 years is released. Changes to Savannah Pediatrics vaccination schedule will be made if necessary to align with this schedule.
All patients are expected to complete their primary series of recommended scheduled vaccinations before their second birthday. As of 1/16/2026, this includes Hepatitis B, DTaP, Polio, Hib, Pneumococcal, MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis A series.
Immunizations may be obtained at another facility (i.e., a county Health Department, hospital) if a parent prefers a specific brand or single-ingredient vaccine if this is still in conjunction with the agreed upon vaccination schedule and is verified in the state immunization reporting system (GRITS).
If a patient enters the practice as a new patient, immunization status will be reviewed, and the patient may need to complete a vaccination series if there is an inadequate immunization status.
If a patient fails to comply with this policy, they will be kindly referred to another pediatric provider for continued medical care. A letter of dismissal will be provided (in person or via mail) 30 days before final practice dismissal.
***For the purposes of this policy the terms “vaccination”, “vaccine” and “immunization” are used interchangeably.
