Dr. Beni Rai Verma, MD, MPH
Interventional Cardiologist | Physician-Scientist | Clinical Researcher

Dr. Beni Rai Verma is an Interventional Cardiologist with extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine, clinical research, and academic medicine. He currently serves as a Staff Interventional Cardiologist at Stone Springs Heart Specialists, Dulles, Virginia, and Reston Hospital, Reston, Virginia.

Dr. Verma earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Government Medical College, Amritsar, India, followed by Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus. He subsequently completed a Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Afterwards, he completed advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at Georgetown/MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Throughout his career, Dr. Verma has held academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University and Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He previously practiced as an Internal Medicine Physician at Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Geisinger Health System and has also served as an Associate Editor for the journal Systematic Reviews (Springer Nature) and as a Healthcare Informatics Consultant with Roche Information Solutions.

Dr. Verma's academic interests include coronary artery interventions, intravascular imaging, coronary microvascular dysfunction, cardiogenic shock, transcatheter valve therapies, structural heart disease, and artificial intelligence in cardiovascular medicine. He has authored and co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, editorials, and scientific abstracts in leading cardiovascular journals, including JACC, Circulation, Heart, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, and American Journal of Cardiology. His research has been presented at national and international scientific meetings.

His scholarly achievements have been recognized with several honors, including the Research Fellow of the Year Award (2024) at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth and the Research Award from the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (2023). He has also received multiple patient care and teaching awards throughout his clinical career.

In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr. Verma actively participates in multidisciplinary heart team meetings, STEMI quality improvement initiatives, peer review for leading cardiovascular journals, and medical education.
