Biography

Dr. Nunn graduated from Banks County Highschool in 1990 as the Valedictorian and STAR student of her class. She received a Presidential Scholarship at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia where she graduated Summa cum laude in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science. She was also selected to be a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, which is arguably the oldest academic honor society in the United States. She majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Nunn attended Mercer University School of Medicine, where she graduated in 1999 with honors. She was invited and accepted into the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in South Carolina in 2002. She was chosen by her colleagues to be the Chief Resident in her third year. After this, she completed a fellowship in Obstetrics at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where she also served as a Junior Faculty member. She graduated from that program in 2003.

After she had completed her education, she joined Chatuge Primary Care in Hiawassee, Georgia, where she was in private practice for 7 years. She practiced full scope Family Medicine with Obstetrics. In March of 2010, she moved her practice closer to Union General Hospital and joined High Mountain Healthcare. In July of 2018, she made a personal decision to eliminate Obstetrics from her scope of private practice. In April of 2020, she began a solo private practice in Blairsville, where she is actively practicing at this time.

Dr. Nunn is passionate about Women’s Healthcare, where she continues to provide full scope preventative health services. She is skilled in expanded outpatient gynecological services including but not limited to abnormal pap smear management, including diagnostic services such as colposcopy. She also treats cervical pathology with cryotherapy as well as Loop Electrode Excisions. She also provides comprehensive birth control options, including placement of IUDs both hormonal and nonhormonal, Nexplanon placement and removal, as well as other more traditional methods to suit the needs of all women. She also provides chronic care management of a multitude of health conditions. She also embraces more holistic approaches as well as utilizes her training in traditional western medicine.

Dr. Nunn also has a thriving pediatric practice where she is active in newborn care, both inpatient and outpatient. She performs neonatal circumcisions. She provides full spectrum preventative services including well checks and vaccinations. She also manages chronic care issues of pediatric patients and uses high quality referral sources when needed.

On a personal note, Dr. Nunn was married in 1994 to Scott Nunn, who is a mechanic in Blairsville and owns Nunn’s Automotive Services. They have no children, but several nieces and one nephew. Her hobbies include party planning, spending time on Lake Chatuge in the summer, and watching plenty of college football in the fall. She is an avid supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs which is an important part of her family legacy. She wholeheartedly embraces her faith and feels blessed to have the opportunity to provide healthcare to those who live around her.
