Memory changes, subtle confusion, or difficulties with daily tasks can be concerning for patients and their loved ones. Our Neurocognitive Evaluations offer a structured, scientific approach to assessing brain health and measuring cognitive strengths and challenges. Led by Dr. Alamelu Murugappan, our practice utilizes validated clinical screening tools—including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and specialized Neuropsychological Cognitive Testing (NCT)—to evaluate key domains such as memory retention, attention span, executive function, spatial awareness, and language ability.
To gain a complete, real-world picture of cognitive health, these objective tests are paired with functional assessments like the Functional Activities Questionnaire (FAQ) and the Functional Assessment Staging Test (FAST). These tools measure how cognitive shifts impact daily living skills, enabling Dr. Murugappan to accurately differentiate between normal age-related changes, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and progressive neurological conditions like Alzheimer's disease or dementia. By establishing a clear diagnostic baseline, our neurocognitive evaluations allow us to design personalized management plans, monitor progression over time, and guide families toward proactive care and peace of mind.
