Biography

Deanna Magerer was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. She received both her DNP and her BSN from the University of Maryland, Baltimore – School of Nursing. During her schooling, Deanna received the “Excellence in Pediatric Primary Care” award, and she was inducted in Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing). She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), and she is the social media chair for the MD Chesapeake NAPNAP chapter. She is also a member of the NAPNAP Immunization Special Interest Group, for which she presented a national presentation on Vaccine Hesitancy. Deanna’s professional interests include immunizations, development, and pediatric nursing education. Deanna is also a part-time nurse educator as a nursing clinical instructor. When Deanna is not working, she enjoys singing at her church and with The Washington Chorus or spending time with her husband and dogs.
