Ear Piercing

Ear Piercing

Ear Piercing @ The McCuiston Group

We provide professional care from someone who has been trained in ear piercing and sterile technique. We also provide follow up wound management associated with the procedure.

The McCuiston Group uses an ear piercing with single-use cassettes and medical-grade plastic piercing studs. Nearly 20% of people around the world are allergic to jewelry. Nickel is the most common cause, however, people are also allergic to gold, silver and other metals used in jewelry. The plastic we use eliminates the risk of metal allergy and the single cassette minimizes the chance of infection at the piercing site. Our system also eliminates the possibility of patient-to-patient cross-contamination.

How old do children have to be before piercing ears?

We start ear piercing on infants at 3 months old. This allows the ears to grow big enough for accurate placement of the earrings. When considering ear piercing, keep in mind that your child must either be small enough to allow us to completely control their movements during the procedure, or cooperative enough to sit still during the procedure.

How much does it cost?

Our fee for piercing both ears is $100. This price includes the piercing studs and the associated visit. Full payment is due when you check in for your ear piercing appointment. Payment covers the preparation of the ear prior to the procedure, piercing the ear(s), and the ear piercing studs (which you leave in for at least 6 weeks). Since this is a cosmetic procedure, it will not be covered by your insurance.
