Biography

Katherine “Katie” Elliot is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing(magna cum laude) and her Master’s degree from Mount Carmel college of Nursing and Otterbein University, respectfully. Katie joined Westar OBGYN in October 2005 and has since been dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Katie has a strong passion for health and wellness education, with a focus on incorporating a natural and holistic approach when appropriate. She specializes in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), insulin resistance, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), and menopause management. She is also deeply committed to patient education, particularly for new obstetric patients, and emphasizes the importance of healthy eating, exercise, and disease prevention.

Additionally, Katie has a special interest in genetics, including fetal genetics and hereditary cancer screening. She works closely with patients to assess genetic risk factors and utilizes advanced screening tools such as Myriad MyRisk and Galleri multi-cancer early detection testing. She is also experienced in managing anxiety, depression, and postpartum depression through a combination of lifestyle interventions, counseling, supplements, and medication therapy, both in-office and telehealth appointments.

Outside of her professional life, Katie is actively involved in her community. She volunteers at St. John Neumann Church in Sunbury and participates in outreach missions supporting the homeless population on the west side of Columbus. She enjoys gardening, walking, and caring for her chickens, dogs, and cats on her small farm in Sunbury.

Katie is a proud mother of three, all of whom attended Big Walnut High School and are now pursuing or have completed college. She remains committed to lifelong learning, regularly attending OAAPN monthly chapter meetings, the annual OAAPN Conference, and continuing education courses focused on hormone replacement therapies and women’s health.
