Biography

Elizma was born and raised in South Africa and had a calling on her life to practice medicine from an early age. She came to America on a tennis scholarship, to study and play varsity tennis. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Physician Associate Studies, Master of Physician Associate Studies and a Doctor of Medical Science degrees. Elizma has practiced Pediatrics for 23 years and continues to enjoy caring for every child's unique healthcare needs. Elizma and her family have made Gainesville their home since 2006 - Go Gators! She is married to her husband Brook of 26 years, and together they were blessed with two children - Ben, 14 and Kate, 10. Faith and family are most important to her and she loves experiencing life through the ages and stages of her children. Hobbies include decorating, gardening, reading, travelling and studying Hebrew. Her faith in the God of Israel through Messiah is the foundation of her life and she actively participates at the local Messianic Congregation. The love for children, the joy of educating and observing healthy growth and development, the privilege to encourage parents in raising healthy children and the honor to help ill ability...as if they were her own.
