Magnificent Minds Neurology Center is a premier pediatric neurology and epileptology practice serving families across Bethesda, Maryland; Vienna, Virginia; Columbia, Maryland; Howard County; and the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. We care for patients from infancy through young adulthood, up to age 25.
Our mission is simple: to provide outstanding medical expertise while making families feel heard, supported, and confident at every step. Our care philosophy combines evidence-based pediatric neurology with a whole-being wellness approach, recognizing that sleep, stress, nutrition, daily habits, school demands, and emotional well-being can meaningfully affect a child’s brain health and recovery.
Our practice was founded and is led by Dr. Sonal Patel, MD, a double board-certified physician in Child Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology with advanced fellowship training in epilepsy and extensive experience evaluating complex neurological concerns in children and adolescents. Dr. Patel has been recognized as a Washingtonian Top Doctor (2021–2025), Bethesda Top Doctor (2021, 2023), and Northern Virginia Top Doctor (2025). We are proud of the trust families and referring clinicians place in our team, and we bring that same level of expertise, compassion, and attention to detail to every visit.
Our physician team has expanded to include Dr. Sefali Patel, MD, a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist serving patients in our Virginia office, and Dr. Amisha Patel, MD, a double board-certified pediatric neurologist and epileptologist who joins Magnificent Minds after practicing at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and previously at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia/Inova. Together, our growing team of pediatric neurology specialists allows us to expand access to high-quality neurological care for children and families throughout Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and surrounding communities.
Magnificent Minds offers comprehensive neurological evaluation and diagnostic testing under one roof, with a focus on accurate diagnosis, clear education, and practical next steps. Our team evaluates and treats a wide range of pediatric neurological conditions, including seizures and epilepsy, headaches and migraines, concussions, tics and Tourette syndrome, developmental concerns, syncope, movement disorders, hypotonia, neuromuscular concerns, and other complex neurological symptoms.
Core services include in-office EEG (electroencephalogram) testing and long-term ambulatory video EEG monitoring, along with coordinated diagnostic testing such as MRI, CT, and other neurological assessments when medically appropriate. EEG testing is one of our key strengths, helping our physicians evaluate seizures, abnormal spells, episodic symptoms, and other concerns where brainwave monitoring can provide important diagnostic clarity. Our EEG studies are reviewed by physicians with specialized expertise in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. When outside studies are needed, our team helps families navigate the process so testing is as seamless and efficient as possible.
Our multidisciplinary clinical team also includes experienced providers such as Haley Fuchs, PA-C, allowing us to improve access, continuity, and collaboration for families. We believe strongly in individualized care rather than a one-size-fits-all approach because every child’s symptoms, development, family circumstances, and daily demands are different.
From the first visit onward, our goal is to provide a high-touch, high-quality experience. We carefully review each child’s history, perform a thorough neurological examination, consider previous records and testing, and develop a personalized plan that may include targeted diagnostics, medication when appropriate, and practical lifestyle recommendations families can realistically incorporate into daily life. We work closely with parents and, when helpful, schools, therapists, pediatricians, and other members of a child’s care team to ensure recommendations are coordinated and focused on what matters most: your child’s safety, development, confidence, and quality of life.
With convenient offices in Bethesda, Maryland; Vienna, Virginia; and our newly opened Columbia, Maryland location, Magnificent Minds Neurology Center is expanding access to specialized pediatric neurological care throughout the region. Our Columbia office allows us to more conveniently serve families in Howard County and surrounding Maryland communities, while our Vienna location serves families throughout Northern Virginia and our Bethesda office provides convenient access for Montgomery County, Washington, DC, and neighboring areas.
We are committed to timely access to pediatric neurological care, including same-day or same-week appointments when available for urgent neurological concerns such as new-onset seizures, suspected infantile spasms, acute migraines, syncope, and concussions, as well as prompt appointments for routine neurological evaluations.
