Biography
Dr. Amisha Patel is board-certified in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology and epilepsy. She received both her medical degree and Master of Public Health from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Patel completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, followed by her residency in Child Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She then completed her fellowship training in Pediatric Epilepsy at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Patel began her medical career practicing general pediatrics, an experience that continues to shape her comprehensive, whole-child approach to neurological care. Her combined background in pediatrics, neurology, epilepsy, and public health allows her to approach each child’s care from both an individualized clinical perspective and a broader understanding of overall health and development.
As a U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Patel brings a strong sense of leadership, dedication, and service to her medical practice. She believes in developing a collaborative partnership with families as they navigate the complexities of their child’s neurological care. Becoming a mother herself has further deepened her understanding and empathy for parents and caregivers managing a child’s health journey. Dr. Patel’s goal is to minimize the impact of neurological conditions on a child’s daily life while helping each child reach their fullest developmental potential.
