Biography

Lya was raised in Orlando, Florida and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida in 2013. She then earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Samford University, and remained in Birmingham, Alabama for several years working at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital as a nurse in the Labor & Delivery Unit. Lya then earned her Master's of Science in Nursing from Auburn University while working as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Advent Health in Orlando. She completed her clinical rotations at Middleton Pediatrics before joining full-time as a Nurse Practitioner. Lya is fluent in Spanish.

In her free time, Lya enjoys traveling, especially to visit her family in Central America. She and fiancé enjoy hiking, going to the beach and spending time with their friends.
