First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your trust and confidence in choosing us to provide your primary care and infectious diseases specialty care over the years. As you may know, Dr. Trinh was planning on retiring this year after being in practice here in Silver Spring since November 1986. Drs. Posorske and Shaffer have decided to work exclusively for Johns Hopkins Medicine providing inpatient consultation support at Suburban Hospital after April 30, 2025. Rather than simply closing the office at the end of this month, we have been working to seek suitable, expert Infectious Diseases/HIV providers to continue to deliver your excellent care.

Montgomery Infectious Disease Associates (MIDA) is thrilled to announce that we have become part of the Washington Health Institute (WHI), a non-profit healthcare organization dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centered, outcomes-driven care, support services, and health sciences research to transform the lives of patients, their families, and underserved communities. WHI offers exceptional and personalized primary, internal medicine, and infectious diseases specialty care throughout the Washington, DC metro region. Like Montgomery Infectious Disease Associates, Washington Health Institute provides expert HIV care and prevention (PrEP) services, specializes in LGBTQIA+ healthcare, and prioritizes the long-term health and well-being of patients.

We will be ending our relationship with Privia and discontinuing the use of the Privia athenahealth electronic health record and patient portal effective April 30, 2025. Our telephone numbers will remain the same. We will be maintaining the same office location and staff for the foreseeable future. Dr. Trinh will continue to provide care for our HIV patients and also infectious diseases consultation support with the assistance of existing WHI providers until new providers are fully in place. Washington Health Institute will be distributing information about its offerings shortly.
