Biography

Dr. Emily Burke is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a lifelong passion for pediatric care. Born in Rockville, Maryland, she spent her early years there before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she lived through high school. It was there that she became an avid skier and fell in love with horses. She later returned to the East Coast to attend Sweet Briar College, earning her B.S. in Biology while riding on one of the college’s equestrian teams.

She pursued a second bachelor’s degree in nursing at Marymount University. Emily went on to work as a pediatric nurse for over 10 years, including time on the general pediatric floor at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring and in the Pediatric ER/Inpatient Unit at Anne Arundel Medical Center. In 2019, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for academic excellence. She has worked in pediatric healthcare since 2008 and has been practicing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2020.

Emily lives in Odenton, Maryland with her husband and their dog. A lifelong animal lover, she previously rode horses competitively and now enjoys training and competing with her dog in various dog sports. Outside of work, she loves cooking, traveling, and has recently taken an interest in exploring the U.S. National Parks.
