Prenatal Care at Aurora Women’s Health

At Aurora Women’s Health, we’re honored to walk beside you during one of life’s most meaningful journeys. From your first positive test through delivery and postpartum recovery, our team provides compassionate, comprehensive care — including support for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.

We deliver exclusively at Sinai Hospital and collaborate closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists when needed.

What to Expect in Your Care

First Trimester (Weeks 1–13)

  • Confirmation visit with ultrasound to establish your due date
  • Complete health history review and initial lab work
  • Options for genetic and carrier screening, including NIPT and ECS
  • Counseling on safe travel, medications, and lifestyle choices

Second Trimester (Weeks 14–27)

  • Detailed anatomy ultrasound around 19–20 weeks
  • Screenings for gestational diabetes, anemia, and infections
  • Vaccinations: flu (if in season) and Tdap (recommended between 28–34 weeks)
  • Prenatal classes and hospital registration (23–26 weeks)

Third Trimester (Weeks 28–40+)

  • Visits every 2 weeks, then weekly after 36 weeks
  • Group B strep testing at 36 weeks
  • Ultrasound to check growth, fluid, and position of your baby
  • Prescriptions for breast pumps and completion of FMLA/disability forms
  • Review of birth preferences, signs of labor, and postpartum planning

Supporting Your Health & Safety

  • Wellness: Balanced nutrition, hydration, rest, and safe exercise are encouraged.
  • Mental Health: If you experience depression, anxiety, or stress, know this is a safe space. We’ll connect you with trusted resources for support.
  • Medications: Many over-the-counter medicines are safe, but always check with us before starting anything new.
