Biography

Mary Houston earned her Master of Health Sciences degree and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society at the Duke University Physician Assistant Program in Durham, NC in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 2002 and Master of Public Health in 2004, both at Florida International University in Miami, FL. She has broad experience in healthcare, having worked in various settings including behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, a community health center, urgent care, emergency department, private practice, and pre-anesthesia testing. She is excited to return to her passion in primary care! Fluent in Spanish, Mary has served with medical mission trips to Nicaragua and Guatemala. Her priority in healthcare is to empower patients to be well, combining preventive medicine, acute and chronic disease management, and educating about healthy lifestyle. Mary also stays busy as a military spouse, mom to two children, and enjoys travel, good food, and a good book.
