“I think each patient should be cared for in a caring, friendly way that is compassionate. I try to be relaxed with patients, but also weigh risks and benefits in a serious manner. Conditions like asthma and food allergies can be serious. I try to find good strategies for coping in addition to state of the art diagnostics and medication to get the best outcomes for every patient.”

Biography

Dr. Courtney Jackson Blair is a Board-Certified Allergist and Immunologist with advanced training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Known for her clear communication, compassion, and clinical precision, she is widely recognized by patients and peers alike for helping individuals with complex allergic conditions regain control of their health.

She specializes in *allergic rhinitis*, *allergic asthma*, *chronic hives (urticaria)*, *eczema*, and *IgE-mediated food allergies*, as well as *chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps* and other complicated respiratory allergic disorders. She is especially skilled in managing patients with overlapping or difficult-to-treat allergic and respiratory symptoms, using a strategic blend of diagnostics, patient education, and cutting-edge therapies.

Her practice offers a full spectrum of advanced treatments, including:

  • Allergy Immunotherapy: conventional and accelerated “Rush” allergy shots, custom allergy drops, and FDA-approved sublingual tablets for respiratory allergens
  • Biologic Therapies: for moderate-to-severe asthma, chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and food allergy
  • Specialized diagnostics and food challenges for high-risk food allergy evaluation
  • Drug allergy testing and de-labeling for penicillin and other medications
  • Evaluation and management of rare allergic and immunologic diseases such as hereditary angioedema (HAE), hypogammaglobulinemia, and indolent systemic mastocytosis

Dr. Blair is also a national speaker and clinical educator on the use of biologic therapies in asthma, food allergy, and HAE—reflecting her deep knowledge and trusted leadership in the field.

She completed her medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University, followed by a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She has practiced in Northern Virginia since 2008 and became sole owner of Allergy and Asthma Associates in 2019.

She currently leads the Allergy & Immunology Specialty Collaborative for Privia Medical Group and serves on multiple advisory committees.
