Occupation
PHYSICIAN, MEDICAL DIRECTOR
"I believe all patients are entitled to respectful listening and a shared approach to their care. My philosophy is to be proactive in care; to prevent disease and complications of disease by managing not just medications, but lifestyle. I strive to provide the care people need and want when they need and want it. I believe in a "whole person" approach to care: I try to understand the greater context of my patients' lives and thus help them overcome barriers to improved health and well-being."

Biography
Dr. Seidel was born and raised in New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and returned to New Jersey for medical school. She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at UCSD. Dr. Seidel practiced in San Diego after residency, where she met her husband. In 1998, she returned to the east coast with her young family. Prior to opening Bay Crossing Family Medicine, Dr. Seidel worked at The Pediatric Group in Crofton, MD where she developed a following as a physician for young families.
Believing that her patients are entitled to a personalized approach to healthcare in an unrushed setting, she opened Bay Crossing Family Medicine in November 2005. Dr. Seidel has been involved in medical home development since 2006, first as a practice in the pilot of TransforMed and later under the Maryland Health Care Commission’s demonstration project.
Dr. Seidel has been active on committees at Anne Arundel Medical Center as well holding leadership positions for the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians over a number of years. She also takes an interest in the education of future family physicians as a volunteer faculty preceptor for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Teaching students in the office is a passion for her; look for those fresh young faces in the office from time to time!
Dr. Seidel has special interests in cross-cultural and travel medicine, child and adolescent medicine, and weight management issues, especially as relates to eating disorders. She sees patients of all ages: those newly born to those in their 9th decade on this planet.
Dr. Seidel has done service work through the Medical Mission to the Dominican Republic, Catechist, and the Binge Eating Disorder Association.
