Biography

Becky O’Laughlin is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in internal medicine and primary care. Working in a physician owned internal medicine practice in Aberdeen, MD, she is experienced in caring for all genders ranging in age from adolescence to geriatrics. Performing physicals, wellness checks, management of chronic conditions, and the management of multiple medications, she believes in patient-centered care and patient empowerment.

Receiving an associate’s degree in nursing from Harford Community College in 2016, Becky went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Stevenson University in Baltimore, MD. After completing those degrees, she obtained her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2022 from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with Latin Honors.

Becky started her career in nursing at age 31 at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore’s orthopedic, spine, and neurosurgical operating rooms. In 2019, she transferred to Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore to include experience in hand trauma surgery from the Curtis National Hand Center. In 2020, Becky transitioned to working in private practice at a pediatrician’s office doing telephone triage while she obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner graduate degree from George Mason University.

Believing that healthcare is the decision made between patient and provider, Becky loves to teach her patients and explain things in ways they can understand and relate to. This usually means food analogies such as M&M’s! When not in the exam room, you can find Becky in the back office with a bottle of soda and peanut butter cups while reviewing charts, calling back patients, refilling medications, and doing research to improve patient care. She is passionate about providing excellent, evidence-based, compassionate care to all her patients.
