Office consults are typically scheduled within 1 week. Surgery can be scheduled once the physician has dictated the orders and provided details for surgery. Surgery can often be scheduled within 2 weeks of the initial consultation. Initial consultations may last between 15-30 minutes.

Prior to surgery it is required if you are over the age of 50 or have any underlying medical conditions including and not limited to heart disease; diabetes; elevated blood pressure etc. You will need to schedule with your primary care physician for history and physical, blood work and an EKG. At this time, it is required that you have a COVID-19 test done within 96 hours of the surgery if you have not been fully vaccinated.

Yes, we have two physicians that do these procedures Stephen Glatz, M.D. and Jason Shoemaker, D.O. Prior to your colonoscopy procedure you will need to follow bowel prep instructions which will be sent to your pharmacy for Suprep. Please follow a clear liquid diet the day before the colonoscopy. You will do the bowel prep at 5pm and 8pm the night before and not to have anything by mouth after midnight.

All procedures are confirmed the day before surgery by the Hospital or the Dublin Surgery Center. We will not provide times prior to surgery because they are subject to change often.

Postoperative appointments are typically scheduled between 7-14 days this will depend on what type of surgery you had and how long you stayed in the hospital following surgery. If there was a drain placed at the time of your procedure your discharge instructions should say how long to wait for postoperative appointment. If staples were placed during surgery you will need to make a 2-week postoperative appointment.

Following your surgery monitor the incisions for any redness spreading around the incision or warm to touch. Increase in yellow or green drainage. Fever. Please call our office if you develop any of these symptoms or you may route a message to your physician through MyChart within Ohio Health.

Please leave the dressing intact until 48 hours after surgery. At that time, you may remove the dressing and shower. Please do not submerge in a bathtub, pool, or hot tub until 4-6 weeks after surgery.

Continue to wear until first postoperative visit. Please wear at all times even during sleep. You may remove while showering or sitting in a recliner/chair during the day.
