Dr. Hallivis enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathleen, and their three children. When not at work they spend time at their children’s sporting and dance events, participating in triathlon competitions, working out, running, cycling, and exploring new eateries and wineries.

Biography
Dr. Robert Hallivis is a partner of Dominion Foot and Ankle Consultants, a member of Privia Medical Group, who is committed to provide a personal and proactive approach and provide each patient the highest quality of foot and ankle care. He specializes in reconstruction of foot and ankle deformities, revisional foot and ankle surgery, adolescent and adult sports medicine, repair of foot and ankle trauma and limb salvage. He is experienced in the latest techniques including arthroscopic surgery and cartilage replacement. Additionally, he has extensive experience treating athletes as well as pediatric and adolescent patients. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery/American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot surgery and Rear Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Hallivis received his podiatric medical degree at The Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated top of his class. He was admitted to one of the most reputable and prestigious residency programs in the field of podiatric medicine and surgery. He completed a three-year residency in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh with an emphasis on the reconstruction of complex deformities and trauma of the foot, ankle and leg. He also completed a mini-trauma fellowship in Germany.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is past President of the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association as well as a member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
Dr. Hallivis has extensive training in foot and ankle pathology with an emphasis on elective and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He is the former Chief of Podiatric Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at Inova Fairfax Hospital and has a strong interest in research and education as is demonstrated by his role as a member of the Residency Training Committee of the Inova Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Residency Program. He is also Clinic Advisor to the American Running Association.
Dr Hallivis is an expert in Northern Virginia in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery and had been voted by his peers and was recognized when he was given the honor and was named a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor in 2016.
