Biography

Emily Sanderson grew up right here in downtown Orlando. She attended Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2006. She began her nursing career in the neurosurgical ICU at Florida Hospital (now Advent Health). Knowing how much she loved children, she moved to Durham, NC to work in the Neonatal ICU while pursuing her masters degree, graduating from Duke University as both a licensed Neonatal and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2011. Shortly thereafter she met and married her husband, John, and they spent the next year serving on Mercy Ships in the Republic of Congo and working at a hospital in rural Guatemala before living several years in Virginia. Emily has worked in both primary care pediatric and urgent care settings in NC, VA and FL. Emily moved back to Orlando in 2018 for her husband to complete his medical training and they love raising their three kiddos, Caroline, Rhett and Luke, in the same neighborhood where she grew up.

Emily loves all things outdoors, planning adventures with her family, volunteering at church & the kid’s schools and trying not to kill the plants in her garden.
