FNA - Fine Needle Aspiration

Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure used to evaluate lumps, nodules, or abnormal tissue. During the procedure, a very thin needle is used to collect a small sample of cells from the area of concern, which is then examined for further evaluation. FNA is commonly used in thyroid biopsies to help evaluate thyroid nodules, as well as breast lumps, lymph nodes, and other soft tissue abnormalities. The procedure is quick, typ ically causes minimal discomfort, and often does not require any downtime afterward.

At The Veranda, our experienced providers use advanced imaging technology and ultrasound guidance when needed to help ensure accuracy and patient comfort throughout the pr ocess. In many thyroid biopsy cases, ultrasound - guided FNA allows providers to closely examine thyroid nodules and gather important diagnostic information without the need for surgery. Fine Needle Aspiration can help determine the next steps in care and tr eatment while avoiding more invasive procedures whenever possible.

Our compassionate team is committed to making every diagnostic experience as comfortable and stress - free as possible. From consultation through follow - up, we work closely with patients to p rovide timely results, answer questions, and ensure personalized care every step of the way.
