Proudly Part of Privia Health
The first device in the United States specifically designed to treat patients with persistent Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) in the United States. ETD is the failure of the valve of the Eustachian tube to open and/or close properly, causing pressure and pain.
Eustachian tubes are the narrow tubes linked to our middle ears. They are normally closed, but open when we swallow, yawn, or chew. As the Eustachian tube opens and closes, it regulates pressure in the ear. People with ETD do not have properly functioning eustachian tubes, and in most cases, they get stuck closed.
During this minimally invasive procedure, the ACCLARENT AERA system dilates (opens up) your Eustachian tube through use of a small balloon.

After your Eustachian tube has been widened, the balloon is deflated and removed from your Eustachian tube. That's it! This procedure ensures that your natural anatomy is preserved, no cuts or incisions required. Since the procedure is minimally invasive, the recovery period will be relatively short.
