Biography
Dr. Amy Porter graduated in 1996 from UVA School of Medicine and completed her residency in 2000 at Georgetown University. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN. Dr. Porter has been recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the area’s top gynecologists.
Dr. Porter specializes in promoting hormonal wellness at every age. Her interests cover a wide range of OB/GYN services including menstrual irregularities, female athletes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, perimenopause, and menopause. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and she is a certified menopause practitioner. She is also a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
Her expertise is in healthy aging, and she educates her patients on their bodies and on the myths and realities of hormonal balance. Dr. Porter works to develop individualized care plans based on a patient’s needs.
