Patient Code of Conduct
At Highland Woods Health, we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care in an environment that is safe, welcoming, and respectful for everyone.
We recognize that healthcare concerns can be stressful, and we encourage patients and families to ask questions, express concerns, and participate actively in decisions about their care.
All patients, family members, caregivers, and visitors are expected to treat our providers, staff, other patients, and visitors with courtesy and respect. Language or behavior that is threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or disruptive to patient care is not permitted. Examples include:
- Threats of violence, physical aggression, assault, or intimidating behavior
- Yelling, repeated profanity directed at another person, name-calling, or derogatory or abusive language
- Offensive or discriminatory comments about another person’s race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics
- Sexual or vulgar language, gestures, or conduct
- Interfering with the care, privacy, or safety of another patient
Serious or repeated violations may result in dismissal from the practice. Immediate action may be taken when conduct presents a safety risk.
If you experience or witness concerning behavior, please notify a member of the Highland Woods Health care team.
