Biography

James Christopher, MD, began his career in the military in 2004. He completed his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and graduated in 1997 after earning his Bachelor of Science at The University of the South in 1993.

Dr. Christopher is Board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has served in numerous surgical and medical leadership roles throughout Louisiana and the U.S. Navy, including Medical Director of Surgery and Trauma and Department of Surgery Chair. His military service included deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Haiti, where he provided trauma, surgical, and critical care to U.S. and allied forces, as well as civilians. He moved to Stephenville in 2026 from Louisiana, where he worked for Lakeview Hospital and Saint Tammany Parish Hospital for over 15 years.
