Faith

My interrelation of medicine and my faith started early. I told my parents when I was five that I was moving to Ohio. Let me remind you that I am from Texas. This is not a normal statement for a Texan. At the age of ten I declared that I was going to be a doctor. My mom is not a doctor. My dad is not a doctor. I'm the first person in my family to ever graduate college. My declaration was not a normal statement. Now I'm a doctor in Ohio. The Holy Spirit can speak through any open vessel, and what is more open than a child?

I am under no illusion as to who I am. God is the Great Physician and I am merely His disciple. I pray daily that I shine His light from helping a parent through a common cold to helping a depressed teen find peace. I hope to shine the love of my Savior into all who meet me. I hope to learn more about Jesus with each passing day, with each person I meet, and each challenge I face.

For peace that surpasses understanding, I look to God. For questions that seem to have no answer, I look to God. For strength when I am weak, I look to God. For patience to understand, I look to God. For the words to say, I look to God. For rest after a troubling day, I look to God. I am by no stretch of the imagination perfect, but that's what I love about my Father; He never asks me to be perfect. I pour over His Word and hope to learn more about what He would have me to know and teach others. I speak with Him daily, sometimes hourly, to guide my words and actions throughout my day. He asks me to go to Him with a humble heart and open mind and this is what I do.

If you know Jesus, I encourage you to continue your investigation and exploration of the Gospel to continue to further your faith. If you do not know Jesus, I encourage you to ask questions. Don't take it from me. Don't take it from your family or friends. Go to church and experience it for yourself. But you are always welcome to ask me anything...from the health of your child, to the health of your spirit, my goal is to be here for you in anyway that I can.

Below are some of my favorite bible verses that lift me up

"Be still and know that I am your God." Ps 46:10

"Be anxious of nothing. Be prayerful of all things. Be thankful for everything." Phil 4:6

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer 29:10

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. For the burden I ask you to carry is light." Matt 11:28
