New Patients: Are We a Good Fit? | Mansfield Pediatrician

Choosing a pediatrician is an important decision. At Julie Tomberlin MD PA, we believe the best care happens when families and providers are aligned in their approach to children’s health.

We are a relationship-based, evidence-driven and integrative pediatric practice in Mansfield, TX, and we want to ensure our office is the right fit for your family before you get started.

Please review the information below carefully.

Our Philosophy

We believe excellent pediatric care is built on:

  • Trust and open communication
  • Shared decision-making
  • Clear expectations
  • A long-term partnership focused on your child’s health

If this approach resonates with your family, we would love to care for your child.

Preventive Care & Well Visits

We prioritize preventive care and require all patients to stay up to date on well visits.

Well visit schedule:

Newborn → 2 weeks → 1 month → 2 months → 4 months → 6 months → 9 months → 12 months → 15 months → 18 months → 2 years → 2.5 years → 3 years → yearly thereafter

These visits are essential for:

  • Monitoring growth and development
  • Preventive care and screenings
  • Building a strong relationship with your provider

Chronic Condition Management

For children with ongoing conditions such as:

  • Asthma
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Eczema

We require regular follow-up visits.

Once stable, visits are typically every 3–6 months, depending on the condition. This ensures safe, effective, and proactive care.

Vaccination Policy

We are a vaccinating pediatric practice.

  • We follow the AAP recommended vaccine schedule
  • We do not offer alternative or delayed schedules
  • Our providers vaccinate their own children according to this schedule

Vaccines are one of the most important ways we protect children from serious illness.

We are always happy to discuss questions and provide education, but maintaining an on-schedule vaccination plan is a requirement for being part of our practice.

Thoughtful Use of Antibiotics

We are committed to evidence-based antibiotic use.

  • We do not prescribe antibiotics unless medically necessary
  • We do not call in antibiotics without an evaluation
  • We focus on educating families on appropriate treatment

This approach helps protect your child and reduces antibiotic resistance
