Acupuncture Services

Inspire Integrative Medicine offers Eastern based holistic medicine to comple ment your comprehensive primary care. We achieve results through the practice of acupuncture, the insertion of thin needles through the skin at strategic points on the body, believed by traditional Chinese medicine to increase the flow of Qi. Acupuncture addresses a variety of conditions bringing mind-body balance and assisting with optimal wellness and disease prevention for a richer lifetime experience.

Services are offered by our Licensed Acupuncturist, Carla Arieta, DACM, L.Ac. Dr. Arieta holds a Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. With over eleven years in healthcare, she brings a deep experience in pain management, preventive medicine, and evidence-based clinical research, bridging Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine practices together.

FAQs

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice, which is based on the concept of balancing the body’s natural energy (known as Qi) which flows along pathways (called meridians). Thin needles are strategically placed along the meridians to stimulate the flow of Qi and restore balance.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Assessment
  • Traditional Acupuncture treatments (scalp, ear, body, extremities)
  • Eastern Nutritional Education (food therapy/herbal medicine)
  • Auriculotherapy (ASP needles/battlefield acupuncture)
  • Cupping (myofascial release therapy)
  • Counseling/Stress relief breathing techniques

To further support your healing and wellness goals, we’re pleased to offer two therapeutic add-on services that can be incorporated into your acupuncture sessions: cupping and moxibustion. These time-tested techniques can help deepen the benefits of your treatment and target specific concerns.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping involves placing specialized cups on the skin to create gentle suction. This technique helps to:

  • Improve circulation
  • Relieve muscle tension and pain
  • Promote lymphatic drainage
  • Support recovery from injury or chronic tightness

You may notice temporary circular marks on the skin after treatment—these are normal and typically fade within a few days.

Cost:

  • May be covered by insurance (depending on your plan)
  • If not covered: $25 per treatment

Moxibustion (Moxa) Therapy

Moxibustion uses the gentle heat of burning herbal preparations (mugwort) applied near specific acupuncture points to:

  • Warm and invigorate circulation
  • Support immune function
  • Reduce pain and inflammation
  • Promote overall balance and healing

This therapy is especially helpful for conditions associated with coldness, low energy, or chronic discomfort.

Cost:

  • Not covered by insurance
  • $65 per session
